Peer Recovery Services
Sometimes going to therapy and talking to a clinician can seem a bit intimidating or you’re just not ready for that type of treatment. Or maybe it feels you’ve had too much of it with no satisfactory results. For many people struggling with addiction or other mental health issues, sometimes it’s hard to connect with a clinician in an office once a week. Peer recovery coaches bridge the gap between therapy and lived experience. They offer a different type of help.
When you decide to work with Creating Connections, you are able to pick a coach that aligns with your values and your needs. They will sit down with you to better understand where you are in your life. Unlike therapy, your peer coach is able to share with you their personal struggles and their journey through life. This can sometimes help bring down those walls that we often times put up when we are feeling to vulnerable. It’s a little easier to share our experiences when others go first. You and your coach will then create S.M.A.R.T. goals that will serve as a guide throughout your time with them.
Whether you are facing addiction, homelessness, recent release from incarceration, conflict at home, or difficulties finding a job, our coaches are able to relate. They have experienced it too which is why they are great at their jobs.
